Former Saddle Brook Democratic Municipal Chair Adeline Epifano Goldsholl, who ran for the New Jersey State Assembly in 1983, passed away on November 24. She was 90.
Goldsholl ran in the politically competitive 38th district against Republican incumbents Louis Kosco and Pat Schuber. She lost by 3,990 votes. In that election, Democrat Paul Contillo ousted Republican State Sen. John Paolella by 595 votes.
She was appointed to fill a vacant seat on the Saddle Brook Board of Education in 1971. She was elected in 1972 and re-elected in 1975, 1978 and 1981.
A registered nurse, she served on the Board of Managers of Bergen Pines Hospital and as a Commissioner of the Bergen County Housing Authority.
